The original probation is extendable for an additional amount of time, up to 3 months. The\u00a0<strong>worker should be given written notice\u00a0<\/strong>of the renewal before the expiration of the initial\u202fperiod.<\/p><p>A worker may\u00a0<strong>resign by providing written notice<\/strong>\u00a0to the organization. A company may also\u00a0<strong>terminate a worker by providing written notice of dismissal.<\/strong>\u00a0As stipulated in the employment contract, the required notification duration is equal in both cases.<\/p><p>Section 12 (2) of the Employment Act 1955 states that the minimum\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hlplawyers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Statutory-Minimum-Notice.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">notice period<\/a>\u00a0is:<\/p><ul><li><b>4+ weeks<\/b> if less than 2 years of service<\/li><li><b>6+ weeks<\/b> if 2 years or more of service but less than 5 years<\/li><li><b>8+ weeks <\/b>if 5 years or more of service<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-311a7e0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"311a7e0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Either company or the employee can dissolve the employment agreement without proper notice. This would typically require the terminating party to reimburse the other party with\u00a0<strong>compensation in lieu of notice<\/strong>.<\/p><p><strong>Employees are not eligible for severance packages in any of the following situations:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>If the employee has been operating for a period of time <strong>less than 12 months<\/strong> (on the date of the dismissal)<\/li><li>If they <strong>renew their employment contract with\u202fterms and conditions that are better<\/strong> than in the\u202fprevious agreement.<\/li><li><strong>7 days before the agreement&#8217;s end date<\/strong>, the company offered\u202fto <strong>renew<\/strong> it under no less generous conditions.<\/li><li>Upon obtaining <strong>notice of dismissal<\/strong>, the worker leaves\u202fwithout the company&#8217;s prior approval or without reimbursing any compensation stipulated in the contract.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-281d404 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"281d404\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>A termination notice is unnecessary in the case of severe misconduct or an \u00aballeged breach\u00bb of the terms of employment such as disclosing confidential information or destruction of company
