Esto supone un cambio esencial en las restricciones chinas para los trabajadores extranjeros.<\/p>\n<p>Es importante destacar que alivia los requisitos de viaje internacional establecidos hace m\u00e1s de dos a\u00f1os. El verano de 2022 ha visto c\u00f3mo China se abr\u00eda de nuevo tras varios meses de cierres en las ciudades del pa\u00eds. Estos periodos de cierre fueron especialmente duros en Shanghai.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, el n\u00famero de vuelos internacionales permitidos ha aumentado, y <strong>el tiempo de cuarentena para algunos viajeros se ha reducido a siete d\u00edas.<\/strong> Este art\u00edculo resumir\u00e1 la carta PU, qui\u00e9n est\u00e1 ahora exento de los requisitos, y la situaci\u00f3n actual para las empresas que entran en China.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>La carta PU: \u00bfQu\u00e9 es?<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>La carta de invitaci\u00f3n PU se introdujo por primera vez en marzo de 2020 al comienzo de la pandemia de COVID-19. <strong>Es un documento emitido por la oficina del Departamento de Asuntos Exteriores del Gobierno chino cuando se solicitan visados para China.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La carta PU (PuTong u \u00abordinaria\u00bb) es el primer paso para adquirir un visado de negocios o de trabajo para los ciudadanos extranjeros. El proceso de solicitud de las cartas PU no es sencillo. Los particulares o las agencias no pueden solicitarlas por s\u00ed mismos; s\u00f3lo pueden hacerlo las empresas.<\/p>\n<p>Antes de que una empresa pueda solicitar la carta de invitaci\u00f3n en nombre de su empleado, debe solicitar y obtener primero el permiso de las autoridades locales para poder emplear legalmente a extranjeros.<\/p>\n<p>Como ocurre con toda la documentaci\u00f3n oficial en China, los procedimientos a seguir son complejos y no siempre claros. Los p<strong>eque\u00f1os errores pueden acarrear graves consecuencias,<\/strong> como la prohibici\u00f3n de salir del pa\u00eds. Estas cartas suelen emitirse a trav\u00e9s de la embajada china en el pa\u00eds de origen del solicitante.<\/p>\n<p>Este es otro problema, ya que muchas de estas embajadas han estado cerradas o sobrecargadas de trabajo durante la pandemia. Debido a estas restricciones, la carta PU normalmente s\u00f3lo se exped\u00eda a los empleados esenciales de las grandes empresas. Esto normalmente significaba aquellos que ocupaban puestos de direcci\u00f3n cruciales y otros trabajadores especializados.<\/p>\n<p>La carta se introdujo por primera vez en 2020. En julio hubo hasta 22 vuelos internacionales por semana. China tambi\u00e9n levant\u00f3 su prohibici\u00f3n de visado para India el 13 de junio. in March 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. <strong>It is a document issued by the Chinese Government Department of Foreign Affairs office when applying for China visas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The PU (PuTong or \u00abordinary\u00bb) letter is the first step in acquiring a business visa or work visa for foreign nationals.<\/p>\n<p>The application process for PU letters is not a simple one. <strong>Individuals or agencies cannot apply by themselves; only employers and businesses can<\/strong>. Before an employer or business can request the invitation letter on behalf of their employee, they must first apply for and <strong>secure permission from local authorities to be able to employ foreigners legally<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As with all official documentation in China, the procedures to follow are complex and not always clear. <strong>Minor mistakes can lead to serious consequences<\/strong> such as exit bans.<\/p>\n<p>These letter are typically issued via the Chinese embassy in the applicant&#8217;s home country. This is another problem as many of these embassies have been closed or overworked during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Due to these restrictions, the PU letter was typically only issued to essential employees of large companies. This usually meant those in crucial management positions and other specialized workers.<\/p>\n<p>The letter was first introduced in 2020. Its supposed reason was to limit the flow of international traffic for health and safety reasons due to the pandemic.\u00a0In September 2021, the regulation was eased slightly. This allowed spouses and family members of those in China to apply for a PU letter and enter the country.<\/p>\n<h3>China Reopens<\/h3>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>2022 has seen many cities in China struggling with the Omicron variant and the flood of new cases. Shanghai was on city-wide lockdown for two months alongside other cities such as Shenzhen and Jilin. Regions regularly still lockdown for several days or weeks to control the spread of the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Travel became extremely limited, and inbound international flights weren&#8217;t available for most travelers.<\/p>\n<p>However, the number of daily cases finally began to drop at the end of May. On June 1, <strong>the Shanghai lockdown was officially lifted<\/strong>. Since then, other COVID-19 restrictions in the city and throughout the country have also decreased.<\/p>\n<p>Employees can now return to companies for on-site work. In addition, restaurants are re-opening, and airlines are increasing flight schedules as well. There were as many as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaltimes.cn\/page\/202206\/1269489.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">22 international flights each week<\/a> in July.<\/p>\n<p>China also <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/nri\/work\/china-lifts-2-year-covid-visa-ban-on-indians-to-provide-visas-for-stranded-indian-professionals-families\/articleshow\/92209918.cms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lifted its pandemic visa ban on India<\/a> on June 13. This allows Indian employees and their families, to apply for visas and return to live and work in China.<\/p>\n<h3>Some Restrictions Remain<\/h3>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>It is vital to note that there are still many guidelines in place for foreign nationals seeking to travel to China. Changes may occur on short notice and be otherwise unclear. For this reason, it is wise to<strong> check with your embassy for updated information before making any travel plans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Each city also maintains its own specific rules around visas and quarantine requirements.
